MARKET BUDS
Market Buds aims to provide a fun opportunity for children to engage in the local food & business system.
Market Buds will resume at our 2025 outdoor farmers’ market. Tokens will not be accepted at our indoor Christmas market.
Learn, Grow, and Have Fun
This season, the St. Albert Farmers’ Market is excited to introduce the Market Buds Program for kids ages 5 to 12 years old. This program is designed to provide a fun opportunity for children to engage in the local food system through conversations with farmers, educational activities, tastings, gardening, exercise classes, arts & crafts, and more!
Each activity is on a first-come, first-serve basis and will be held at our tent set up at Millennium Park from 1-3 pm, located behind the market at the entrance by the Legion. There is no cost to participate, but supplies are limited, so we encourage you to come sooner rather than later.
Each programmed event will be monitored and led by our Farmers’ Market staff and local community groups. However, parents or guardians must stay and supervise for the full duration of each activity, so please plan accordingly.
Once the activity has been completed, you will earn a token that can be redeemed for local produce!
Redeem your Market Buds Tokens at the following farms:
Kuhlmann’s Market Garden’s & Greenhouses ltd - booth 100-110
Lacombe Fresh - booth 92-96
Meadow-Sweet Apiaries - booth 202

Steve and Dan’s Fresh B.C. Fruit ltd - booth 10-18

While the token does not need to be redeemed on the same day, we encourage using it sooner rather than later. Please note that we are not responsible for lost or misplaced tokens, and they are non-refundable.
